What Is Schizophrenia?

Schizophrenia is a diagnosis for the mental disorder, which is observed in the young adults. It is a psychiatrics diagnosis, which came to the worldwide, when Eugen Bleuler had coined and described the diagnosis process called Schizophrenia in the year 1908.

If a young person suffers from certain disorders such as thought disorder, unethical or disorganized think or speech, mental dilemma, abnormal expression in different situations, dysfunction in occupation and social activities showing a great extent of mental illusions, irritability, withdrawal or separation from the socio–activities, hearing some sound conversely after combining two or more sounds, then Schizophrenia treatment is very much necessary for the patient showing any of the abovementioned symptoms. It has been surveyed that about 0.4 to 0.6 percentage of the adult mass gets affected by this deadly disease.

The treatment is done on them by an experienced psychiatrics, who used to observe the behaviors of the patient and the reports of its disorganized manner by any the close relatives, family members, colleagues and friends of the patient. The patient is treated by the clinical psychologists by psychiatric assessment test and other mental status examination by the psychologists. However the diagnoses have not reached at its peak due to the actual cause of the symptoms of a patient.

The unknown nature of the cause affects the psychiatrics such that the Schizophrenia has not reached the laboratory test yet. The experts think that the reason behind the disorder may be the disturbance in the major functional area of a person such as- family, working condition, friends surrounding, and lack of communication with the people for a very long durations. Sometimes the disease is very much confused with the split personality or multi- personality disorder. However, the psychiatrics suggestion is that the Schizophrenia is different from the Dissociative Identity disorder or commonly known as split personality disorder. The patient exhibits a combination of many mental disorder symptoms so that the Schizophrenic treatment is most confused one by the experts in the present world.

The cause of the disorder is due to the increment of the Dopamine activity in the brain. The mesolimbic pathway of the brain is affected due to the excess Dopamine and occurrence of mental disorder. The antipsychotic medication is considered as one of the best treatment for this. Such treatment gradually suppresses the activity of the dopamine in the brain. However, there may be the psychosis like schizophrenia for a shorter duration of time and called as the schizophreniform disorder.
